INTERVIEW FERMENTIS

We met with representatives from Fermentis, who exhibited at BeviTec from April 15-17. During our interview, we discussed their unique products and accomplishments and learned about their plans for the show.

1. Tell us more about your company and its activities.
Fermentis: We are a key producer of yeast for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Our company had unique competencies in yeast production, which allowed us to offer a product of incomparable quality.

2. What were the key goals set by your company for this year and what achievements have already been realized?
Fermentis: The highlight of the past year was the opening of a new production line, which set a new quality standard in our industry. We also launched unique products such as Saflager E-30 for fruit lagers and SafSour Barrel and SafSour Fruit Intuition mixes, which allowed for multicultural fermentation in the most predictable way.

3. What are the most popular products among your customers and why are they in such demand?
Fermentis: Our lineup of brewing strains met the needs of even the most sophisticated brewers and was constantly evolving. The most popular were Saflager 34/70, an ideal strain for low fermentation, and SafAle US-05, an excellent choice for IPAs and APAs. Notable new products included SafAle W-68, a wheat strain, and SafAle LA-01, a strain for non-alcoholic beers.

4. What new products were you planning to introduce at BeviTec this year?
Fermentis: We planned to present a new lager strain for hoppy lagers with a unique ability to express hop thiols, as well as a new type of packaging with a device for simplified yeast task. And many more interesting things that we have already talked about at our booth.

5. Why did you decide to exhibit at BeviTec?
Fermentis: BeviTec is the key industry exhibition, the main place to meet old friends and new partners. We were looking forward to new meetings and interesting projects!

6. How do you assess the current trends and prospects for market development in the coming years?
Fermentis: Working with almost every alcoholic beverage in the world, we have certainly seen the growing popularity of non-alcoholic beer and beverages in general. What was interesting was the growing trend of moving from ales to lagers, which was also a major trend in the global market; with us, lagers have always been popular.
